Why app-ads.txt
app-ads.txt is an IAB Tech Lab standard. With it, you declare on your own website which ad networks may sell your app’s ad space. It protects you and advertisers from fake apps that copy your app’s package name.
A new app receives no tPiy ads until its app-ads.txt line is verified, unless tPiy has granted the app an exemption; test ads work before that. The 7-day grace period applies only when an app that was already verified loses its verification (see below).
The line to add
Add this line to your app-ads.txt file, with your own publisher ID:
tpiy.com, pub-1234567890, DIRECT
tpiy.com— the ad network’s domain; always exactly this.pub-…— your publisher ID. Copy it, or the whole line, from your app’s page in the Monetize panel.DIRECT— you have a direct agreement with tPiy.
If your file already contains lines for other ad networks, keep them and add the tPiy line on its own line.
Where the file goes
The file must be at the root of the domain of the developer website shown on your app’s store listing: on Google Play, the website in the developer contact details; on the App Store, the developer website, which we read from Apple’s public lookup service.
For example, if your store listing shows https://www.example.com/games, the file must be at https://example.com/app-ads.txt. We try https:// first and then http://, and we follow redirects, including at most one redirect to a different domain.
Verification
We check every app’s file automatically once a day, and you can start a check at any time with “Check now” in the panel. Comments, spaces and upper or lower case do not matter; the domain must be tpiy.com, the publisher ID must be yours and the relationship must be DIRECT.
The panel shows one of these statuses, with what to do next: Verified, File not found, tPiy line missing, Wrong publisher ID, Site not reachable, No website on the store listing.
If verification is lost
If a verified app’s line can no longer be verified — for example because the file was deleted or the site is down — we e-mail you and a 7-day grace period starts. If the problem is not fixed within 7 days, the app stops receiving tPiy ads until the line is verified again. A one-day outage does not interrupt your ads.
sellers.json
tPiy lists its publishers in tpiy.com/sellers.json, following the IAB Tech Lab sellers.json standard. The publisher ID in your app-ads.txt line is the same as your seller ID in that file.
Monetize panel
Manage your apps, ad placements, reward callbacks, app-ads.txt status and earnings in the Monetize panel.
